Alger Liang

Alger Ji-Liang 梁家傑 (he/him) is an emerging interdisciplinary artist, filmmaker, and arts worker based on the unceded and ancestral territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) and səlilwətaɬ (Tseil-Waututh) peoples, "Vancouver". Alger is the associate curator and coordinator of Atelier254, a multi-use community space in Chinatown that supports marginalized and underrepresented artists and cultural producers in the city. He was the former curator of the Mount Pleasant Community Art Screen, a community-generated billboard art screen platforming local and commissioned public art. In his own art practice, Alger explores kinship, community, love, and grief through photo documentation, filmmaking, and archival investigation.
