Over the past year, Vancouver-native Christa Belle has worked tirelessly in the local DJ circuit developing her own blend of hard-hitting modern disco, French house, and all-around experimental dance music. With many years of classical piano training behind her, CB brings layering chord progressions and rhythms to new heights in her eclectic, high energy dance sets. Pressed vocals, jacking house beats and 70's soul and disco samples in hi-fi stereo sound bless moves on even the shyest dancers. You can catch Christa every Saturday night as a resident DJ at the Fox Cabaret.

Drawing musical inspiration from the evolving relationship between man and the technology we create, Eli Muro’s  recordings and live performances combine modern electronic explorations with danceable beats by combining live PA with DJ techniques and live instrumentation.. While steadily moulding his personal musical style into something unique, he was one of 20 Canadian musicians selected by the esteemed Red Bull Music Academy to participate in BassCamp Montreal in early 2014.

Representing Vancouver BC and the Chapelsound collective, Heroshe takes the rhythmic foundations of Chicago footwork and blends the space with reverberated soundscapes that take influence from ambient, lo-fi, and r&b genres. While still trying to maintain the familiar footwork feel and sound, experimentation through trial and error has brought this interpretation to life.

I M U R (I am you are), is an East Vancouver duo with a hybrid sound influenced by 90's hip hop/r&b, electronic, soul, and progressive-pop.  The duo consists of producer Mikey J Blige on live beat composition and electric guitar, and singer-songwriter Jenny Lea on keys, vocals, and looping.  The pair has the innate ability to not only reach their audience,  but pull them inside out, exposing parts of the soul and psyche often hidden.

If you ask most young adults in east van about the last good sweaty rock show, after-hours rave, or ambient performance in a record store they went to it’s likely a member of Mountainous Collective (often shortened to MNTNS) will be mentioned. The members of MNTNS have been quietly dominating in various respects around the city since 2012, and still only a few of them are allowed in clubs. Now - premiering exclusively for Chapel Sound Festival - Founding members Jade Statues and Slippery Jibberish, along with MNTNS' New blood Noscar come together for an all-star back to back set comprised of new , original music from themselves and the crew. Mu (Francesca Belcourt and Brittney Rand) embraces the cutting wavelengths of electronica, enveloped in the comfort and softness of organic sounds. They tactfully marry evocative storytelling, electronic instrumentation, and experimental production with a dreamy and ethereal pop overtone.  Their unique and exotic sound draws on the emotions and experiences of twenty-somethings in a jaded, yet still hopeful world.

Sound, acting captain of the Low Indigo ship, one half of the experimental dub duo Chambers, curator for New Forms Festival for over ten years, Bass Coast Music Festival resident, long term collaborator with throat singer Tanya Tagaq,  and ambient/experimental artist under the alias Souns.

Nancy Dru crafts danceable sets with some less predictable twists and turns. As well, she plays various underground parties in Vancouver, deep & dark techno sounds that appeal to the brain as well as the body. Known during the IDM days as The Square Root of Evil, Jen now delivers dense, driven techno, as solid as urban pavement. Nancy Dru is where Jen's personal and deep comprehension of sound marches through each corner and transition of her set. Rendering her work more potent is its vocal aridness. Though this style is alive with language, it is an idiosyncratic, non-verbal kind, accessible to all who are at least level two versed in techno.

With an arsenal of remixes and more phenomenal originals than we can count, Rook Milo is a must-listen for Vancouver’s hip-hop fans and Fortune regulars. Powerful percussion and etheric synths lay the foundation of Rook Milo’s sound, but the Kelowna-born producer is careful never to play the same trick twice.

Contrasting harsh processed fragments with her warped vocal harmonies - x/o's compositions are jarring and aggressive yet cinematic and serene.
